SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the direct supervision of programmers and provides leadership and direction to all facilities' machine tool programming teams. Person will plan, direct, and coordinate machining processes, design fixturing and tooling, and respond to manufacturing issues and concerns to ensure machining processes produce products to customer specifications and according to manufacturing schedules.

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves machine tooling and processes.
  • Oversee the design and builds of appropriate fixtures following FMI ISO procedures to support efficient and cost-effective machining processes.
  • Performs engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • Confers with customers and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with engineering managers to determine part specifications and recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Interacts with all factory employees, appropriate management and operations personnel, and other department personnel. Communicate with the Engineering Manager to obtain instruction and assistance and communicate concerns.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in the precision manufacturing industry, preferably in semiconductor industry. Will also consider aerospace industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience Education Bachelor’s degree and management experience
  • Must have strong tooling for manufacturing as well as CNC work holding experience
  • Computer literacy includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project & CAD software.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Lean Enterprise certification
  • ERP system certification
  • Lean 6 sigma certification
  • GD&T certification
