JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to supervise project management functions responsible for oversight of design, construction, coordination, and commissioning of utility projects and programs. Supervise project management activities including creating and updating project schedules, controlling project budgets, managing project scopes, monitoring and tracking project status, and preparing project progress reports. Ensures collaboration between project management and key stakeholders such as planning, land management, engineering, design, construction, operations, supply chain, and resource coordination. Ensures customers, management and key stakeholders are kept informed on project status. Ensures compliance with project management procedures, and approves projects in accordance with AFE Policy. Responsible for timely completion of work and adherence to budget on new business projects and performs various duties in providing services to customers to establish service to new business. Directs team activities to achieve Key Results.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

โ€ข Supervises daily activities of team. Sets priorities to accomplish task or process completion. Decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Typically does not perform same work as subordinates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

โ€ข Makes performance metrics visible to provide on-going feedback and guide improvement efforts.

โ€ข Directs project funding and verifies financial audits on each project.

โ€ข Oversees development of project management plans that include project scope verification, project schedules, timelines, milestones, budget estimates, cash flows, work breakdown structures, and resource requirements.

โ€ข Responsible for project management oversight of design, construction and commissioning of projects and programs.

โ€ข Ensures effective relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally.

โ€ข Ensures collaboration between project management and key stakeholders including customers, planning, land management, engineering, design, construction, operations, supply chain, and resource coordination.

โ€ข Manage performance and development of members; Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and influence others positively while fostering a team environment; Provide fair and accurate evaluations and performance reviews of direct reports and ensure work observations and performance reviews are fair and thorough; Provide constant feedback to team members on their current level of performance and opportunities to improve; Understand the goals of team members and provide input on ways to achieve a desired career path; Address and resolve concerns escalated by members of the work group.

โ€ข Responsible to promote a safety culture by leading, modeling and coaching behaviors consistent with IIF (Incident and Injury Free). Ensure weekly and monthly safety meetings are held; Monitor to ensure all members complete compliance training/certifications, as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management and 7 years of related experience (e.g., Project Management, Utility Engineering, Utility Construction, or Utility Operations); Or

โ€ข Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management and 9 years of related experience (e.g., Project Management, Utility Engineering, Utility Construction, or Utility Operations); Or

โ€ข High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of related experience (e.g., Project Management, Utility Engineering, Utility Construction, or Utility Operations); And

โ€ข 2 years project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

โ€ข Experience managing electric utility distribution projects.

โ€ข Experience managing external customer-facing projects.

โ€ข Familiarity with AI, generative AI, automation, or other emerging technologies, and a demonstrated ability to identify innovative solutions to business challenges. Strong interest in learning new technologies, driving adoption, and continuously improving business processes through data-driven and technology-enabled approaches.

โ€ข SAP experience.

โ€ข Supervisory experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

โ€ข Requires occasional overnight, out-of-town travel to attend conferences, workshops, seminars and training.

โ€ข Requires travel throughout the Companyโ€™s service territory to meet with internal and external customers, crews and contractors, inspect job sites, and oversee project-related activities.

โ€ข Requires extensive hours and work outside of normal business hours as workload dictates.

โ€ข Office work using computers.
