Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Description

The Operations Manager leads manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and overall operational activities in a growing production environment. This role drives safety, quality, delivery, productivity, employee engagement, and financial performance while building high-performing teams and championing continuous improvement. The Operations Manager works cross-functionally to support new product introductions, capital projects, and business growth initiatives, ensuring operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and operational activities to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operations.
  • Drive performance in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost, setting clear targets and holding teams accountable for results.
  • Manage production scheduling, workforce planning, and resource allocation to meet customer demand and optimize capacity.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors, managers, and frontline leaders to build strong, engaged, and capable teams.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve flow and efficiency.
  • Drive improvement in key operational KPIs including OEE, throughput, labor productivity, scrap, downtime, and inventory performance.
  • Manage operational budgets and financial performance, ensuring alignment with profitability and cost-control objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement events and process improvement projects, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and change management.
  • Partner closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, customer service, and leadership teams to support operational transformation.
  • Support new product introductions by coordinating manufacturing readiness, resource planning, and operational ramp-up activities.
  • Lead and support capital projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and integration into operations.
  • Drive operational transformation and change management initiatives to support growth, expansion, and increased complexity.
  • Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and talent development to ensure the right skills and capacity are in place for current and future needs.
  • Optimize supply chain and inventory management practices to improve material flow, reduce stockouts, and manage working capital.
  • Ensure robust quality management systems are in place and effectively used, including root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, driving regulatory compliance and proactive risk reduction.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, solve problems, and make informed decisions about operational performance.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of manufacturing operations leadership experience, overseeing production, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing activities.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading supervisors, managers, or operational teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with measurable operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development, coaching, and engagement.
  • Experience managing budgets and operational financial performance, including cost control and profitability support.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including use of data to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities and changing demands.
  • Experience managing operational KPIs such as productivity, quality, OEE, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and inventory performance.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; familiarity with SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong safety leadership experience and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to drive change management and lead operational transformation initiatives.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience working with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, customer service, and leadership teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Metal manufacturing or metal fabrication experience, ideally in architectural metal products manufacturing.
  • Lean Certification and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean tools and practices such as 5S implementation, kaizen event facilitation, and waste reduction.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP platforms in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and 5-Why methodology to address recurring issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • in new product introduction (NPI), including manufacturing readiness and launch support.
  • Capital project management experience, including planning, execution, and integration of new equipment or processes.
  • Experience in supply chain optimization and inventory management to improve material flow and reduce working capital.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
