What You Will Do

We are hiring a high-performing Manager, Operations to partner closely with the SVP, Operations in driving the company's highest priority initiatives and operational performance for one of Shields' anchor partners and, ultimately, the broader region.

This is a high-visibility role for a versatile, high-capacity operator who is excited by challenging work, high expectations, and meaningful opportunity to grow into a regional leadership position.

This role sits at the center of regional decision-making, providing visibility into operations, growth initiatives, financial performance, and executive stakeholder engagement. You will combine strategic problem-solving, rigorous analytics, and structured execution to help the organization operate with speed, accountability, and precision.

This role is designed for individuals with 5–8 years of experience who are looking to transition from highly analytical environments into operational leadership and is an ideal opportunity for someone who is sharp, highly organized, and excited to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, solve complex operational challenges, and expand patient access to transformative-often curative-healthcare.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Raleigh/Durham (4 days/week in office).

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Operations, Growth & Partnership Management

  • Support day-to-day management of a health system partner and help drive operational, strategic, and growth initiatives – including designing workflows, drafting standard operating procedures, and operationalizing delivery of new therapies across sites of care
  • Partner with hospital executives, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to create and execute operating plans, implement new services, and ensure successful program performance
  • Identify opportunities for service-line expansion, operational improvement, and scalable growth while helping codify best practices across the organization
  • Develop and lead implementation of new programs, services, and operational initiatives across sites of care and service lines

Financial & Performance Management

  • Support management of the partnership P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, business planning, and financial performance reviews
  • Establish, track, and report on key operational and financial performance indicators
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards, financial models, operating reviews, ROI analyses, and capacity assessments that support decision-making and future investment
  • Identify risks and opportunities and translate insights into actionable recommendations

Executive Operations & Program Execution

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and outcomes
  • Prepare executive presentations, business reviews, and decision-support analyses for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, track commitments, and build operating rhythms, governance processes, and project plans that drive accountability and execution
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and operating mechanisms to enhance scalability, efficiency, and organizational discipline
  • Contribute to service expansion initiatives and the development of operational and technology-enabled solutions that improve program performance and scalability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-performance, fast-paced environment

  • Fluency in PowerPoint and advanced proficiency in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting, strategy & operations, corporate development, transformation, healthcare operations, investment banking, or similarly rigorous environments
  • Experience supporting senior executives and leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience building dashboards, reporting tools, and performance management systems
  • Epic and/or Cerner experience preferred and PowerBI experience beneficial
