Job description

Gunnison Copper- has an immediate employment opportunity for an Operations Foreman -Leaching at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project located in southeastern Arizona between the cities of Benson and Willcox.
Leaching Operations Foreman leads and supports construction, operations, installation of piping, and maintenance of the heap leach pads.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage personnel issues including scheduling, performance management and employee relations issues of the leaching department
  • Direct leaching operations including coordination of solution management with plant operations, stacking operations and the mine department
  • Oversees heap leach inspection and assure operations of the heap leach facilities meet Company standards and legal compliance
  • Lead, direct and train all heap leach personnel regarding their assigned duties.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (EPA, ADEQ, MSHA etc.)
  • Manage safety training and compliance within the department, including safety audits and hazard assessments, enforcement of safety rules and policies, completion of documentation for any incidents.
  • Coordinate with plant operations in shut-down and start-up of solution distribution when needed
  • Maintain records pertaining to production and goals as established by the department
  • Monitor materials and supplies and coordinate inventory needs with procurement
  • Produce maintenance requests and work orders from work area inspection sheets
  • Direct SOP’s within the department and assist HSE with rework of SOP’s as needed
  • Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five to Seven years experience in the Leaching process, including stacking, irrigation and processing.
  • 2-5 years experience in direct supervision and frontline leadership.
  • Ability to operate fundamental software with computers
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Proficient in computer operations, including Microsoft office suite
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying 1-50 lbs. may be required
