Position Overview

The Area Supervisor plays a critical role in the GRM service delivery model, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of GRM services, products, and solutions across assigned regions and territories. This position is responsible for driving operational excellence through proactive site inspections, strong client relationships, quality assurance, contractor accountability, and revenue growth initiatives.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Area Supervisor works closely with Operations, Administration, Business Development, Procurement, and Finance teams.

As a primary field representative of GRM, the Area Supervisor serves as a key point of contact for client Facility Managers and GRM Preferred Partners. Success in this role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, along with a commitment to exceptional customer service and identifying opportunities to expand GRM's presence and revenue within the region.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Leadership & Site Inspections

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and compliance with client and GRM standards.
  • Source, onboard, and manage GRM Partners and subcontractors to support operational coverage and growth.
  • Provide training, coaching, and operational guidance to ensure consistency, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Hold contractors and partners accountable to performance, safety, and contractual standards.
  • Identify operational or safety issues and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Respond to emergency and remedial situations, including hands-on field support for snow removal, landscaping, and equipment operation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, Facility Managers, GRM Partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct routine client and partner meetings/site visits to review performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Resolve client and contractor concerns proactively while escalating issues appropriately to support long-term relationship retention.
  • Review, track, and report daily on open work orders, service completion, deficiencies, and operational priorities using company and client work order management systems.
  • Maintain organized records, inspection reports, quotations, and operational documentation.
  • Provide regular operational updates and performance feedback to management.


Revenue Growth & Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to grow revenues within existing accounts through site inspections, maintenance recommendations, value-added services, and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers, Business Development Managers, Procurement, and Operations teams to identify target customers and support regional growth strategies.
  • Assist in preparing estimates, quotes, and proposals by sourcing subcontractor pricing and developing detailed costing for GRM self-performed work.
  • Support contract renewals, upselling initiatives, and strategic account growth within assigned territories.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations supervision, field services, facilities maintenance, landscaping, construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of site operations, safety standards, quality control, and contractor/partner management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Experience identifying revenue opportunities and supporting business growth initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and work order management systems.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout assigned regions as required.


Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory for site inspections, contractor meetings, and client meetings.
  • Due to the seasonal nature of our business, candidates must be flexible and available to work irregular hours outside of a standard work week when required to meet operational objectives.
