Job description

Amazon Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx) is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead execution of safety performance improvement programs targeting the network's highest-opportunity sites. This role owns the operational cadence for a portfolio of enrolled sites, translating data-driven insights into site-level interventions that produce measurable, sustained injury rate reduction. The ideal candidate combines deep program management experience with analytical rigor and a bias for action in complex, cross-functional environments.
You will operate as a force multiplier for a Principal Program Manager, independently managing day-to-day program operations across a growing enrollment base while partnering with business unit leaders, data science teams, and field WHS professionals to drive execution

This role requires comfort with ambiguity, the ability to influence without authority across multiple organizations, and a track record of improving safety mechanisms on site. Some travel required (roughly 25%, up to 50%).
Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end execution cadence for program-enrolled sites, including quarterly reviews, site improvement plan tracking, graduation criteria monitoring, and escalation management. Partner with business intelligence and data science teams to build reporting mechanisms, validate intervention effectiveness, and surface actionable performance insights to business unit leaders

Analyze site-level performance data to identify emerging risks, monitor progress against improvement plans, and inform resource allocation decisions. Coordinate with business unit points of contact across multiple organizations to ensure consistent execution, remove barriers, and drive accountability from site to regional leadership. Support program scaling initiatives including new enrollment cycles, tiered support model expansion, and integration of additional business units and geographies.

Drive continuous improvement of program processes, playbooks, and templates to enable standardized execution as enrollment grows. Conduct site visits alongside business unit partners to assess implementation quality, validate corrective actions, and identify cross-site best practices for replication. Support preparation of program-level reporting and communications to senior leadership, including monthly flash reports, VP-level updates, and executive reviews.
