Job description

Lead the operations and manufacturing activities that bring advanced laser systems from planning through customer delivery. In this role, you will connect engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams to drive operational excellence, support business growth, and deliver outstanding experiences for customers around the world. This position is onsite in our facility located at UCONN Tech Park.

What You\'ll Do
  • Lead operations and manufacturing teams responsible for production planning, system assembly, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Drive production schedules and resource planning to maximize efficiency and ensure on-time delivery of laser systems to customers worldwide.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Field Service teams to transition new designs into production, resolve manufacturing challenges, and support installation timelines.
  • Maintain ERP system integrity by ensuring accurate inventory, production tracking, scheduling, and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Coordinate operational resources to support customer service activities, including rapid deployment of replacement assemblies and technical support when required.
  • Lead operational readiness activities for the future SAP implementation, including process mapping, data preparation, system transition planning, and deployment support.
  • Strengthen supply chain resilience through strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory planning, and efficient domestic and international logistics.
  • Align procurement activities with production requirements to prevent manufacturing bottlenecks and support consistent delivery performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
What You\'ll Bring
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
  • Five or more years of leadership experience within manufacturing, production planning, operations, or technical hardware assembly environments.
  • Proven experience partnering with engineering and field service teams to deliver complex products on schedule.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, inventory management, production planning, and manufacturing Bills of Materials.
  • Experience with SAP or participation in ERP implementation, migration, or transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around shared objectives.
  • A process-oriented mindset with the focus on operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading organizational change and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively address production, quality, and supply chain challenges.
