You will be working in the Infrastructure OU alongside our A47 Highways team in where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

In partnership with National Highways, we're shaping the future of travel at the A47 Thickthorn junction. Two new freeflowing slip roads will ease congestion and improve connections between the A47 and A11 - saving commuters and businesses hundreds of hours every week.

We are currently looking for a Project Controls Lead who will lead the implementation and ongoing management of the Integrated Project Controls Framework.


As the Project Controls Lead, you will:

  • Align the strategic direction of the project controls function with the requirements of the OU business plan.
  • Provide leadership to the project controls team, including line management of project controls and analytics managers.
  • Establish the standard way of working for the project controls discipline and own the role out of Integrated Project Controls Framework, embedding and ongoing adherence to that standard way of working across the OU.
  • Support, coordinate and plan resources for respective discipline across the OU.
  • Manage the interfaces between project controls and other disciplines, including commercial, operations, planning, information management, design, and engineering, at both project and OU levels, to support the delivery of business needs


We are looking for:

  • Leadership of teams - ability to both lead and work as part of a team.
  • Deep understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, earned value management (EVM), and risk management preferably gained via project delivery experience.
  • Implemented Control Account Plans, OBS and EVMS on infrastructure projects.
  • Track record of driving process improvement, system integration, and standardisation initiatives.
  • Relevant qualification at degree level in quantity surveying, construction management or similar.
  • APM qualification.
