Job description

Seran seeks to hire a Senior Scientist to join the Product Development group and contribute as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. This role will design products that meet the target product profiles defined by the project sponsor. To accomplish this, they will select the type of formulation approach and propose different prototype variations for manufacturing and testing. They will design experiments to guide the overall formulation approach and to evaluate different prototypes. Additionally, they will collaborate with analytical science and process development experts to form a comprehensive product team.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently develops experimental protocols and templates based on project need
  • Independently summarizes, reports, and analyzes data to draw conclusions and proposes next steps
  • Identifies out of trend data, forms hypothesis and investigates
  • Evaluates data and draws conclusions across data sets/projects
  • Contributes to laboratory, instrument, and/or equipment maintenance and coordination
  • Communicates technical information to internal team
  • Independently communicates technical information to external partners
  • Authors technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance
  • Develops and manages workplans
  • May supervise and mentor teams
  • Responsibilities may increase in scope to align with company initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • B.S. in Science or Engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience,
  • M.S. in Science or Engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience, or
  • PhD in Science or Engineering discipline
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Adheres to consistent and predictable in-person attendance
  • Motor skills required for basic laboratory operations (pouring liquids, using utensils to transfer powders, visual assessments)
