Job description

Fintech BSA Compliance Specialist
Cape Girardeau, MO | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM | Starting at $22/hr, based on experience
Why You'll Love Working Here
Fintech moves fast - and protecting the financial system requires people who know what to look for.
At MRV Connect, we combine the strength and experience of a relationship-driven community bank with the evolving world of fintech, digital banking, payments, and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS).
As our Fintech BSA Compliance Specialist, you'll help protect the Bank and our fintech programs by supporting Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), OFAC, and financial crime compliance. You'll monitor activity, investigate potential concerns, evaluate fintech partners, and help ensure strong compliance controls are built into innovative financial products and services.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is analytical, naturally curious, detail-oriented, and enjoys connecting the dots. If you like investigating unusual activity, digging deeper when something doesn't look quite right, and solving problems in an environment that continues to evolve, you may be a great fit.
What You'll Do
  • Monitor fintech programs, digital banking services, and BaaS activities for compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and applicable banking regulations.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts, investigate unusual or suspicious activity, and assist with Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) preparation when appropriate.
  • Conduct BSA/AML due diligence, onboarding assessments, and ongoing monitoring of fintech partners and third-party providers.
  • Support risk assessments involving fintech partners, digital onboarding, payment systems, and emerging financial technologies.
  • Help evaluate CIP/KYC, identity verification, transaction monitoring, and other financial crime controls supporting fintech programs.
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Compliance, and Product teams to evaluate compliance impacts of new integrations, enhancements, and system changes.
  • Assist with compliance testing, monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
  • Identify issues and help track remediation resulting from monitoring, audits, investigations, or system and process gaps.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation, including partner oversight records, monitoring results, and regulatory reporting files.
  • Research evolving regulatory guidance affecting fintech, BaaS, digital identity verification, payments, and financial crime compliance.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and fintech partner compliance reviews.
  • Prepare compliance metrics, dashboards, and summaries for leadership, risk committees, and regulatory reporting.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify risk, recognize patterns, and dig into the details.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document findings and communicate concerns.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in BSA/AML, fraud monitoring, payments, banking, or fintech compliance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, CIP/KYC, and payment-related regulatory requirements preferred.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to continuously build expertise as fintech, financial crime risks, and regulatory expectations evolve.

Perks & Benefits
We invest in our people because we know our people make the difference.
  • 11 Paid Holidays
  • PTO-17 days of accrued paid time off
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, Vision Insurance & More (100% of employee premium paid for Health & Dental by bank).
  • 401(k) with Employer Match
  • Positive, team-oriented culture that values growth and fun
  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to emerging fintech practices
