CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Manager of Data Engineering to join our talented Enterprise Data team. This role is to define, design, develop, implement, and maintain the data assets and infrastructure used across the enterprise. They lead the progress of data standards, integration and quality initiates, storage, integration, and performance of data stores both for application and analytics purposes. They direct research and development in support of business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements over the course of the software development lifecycle. They apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help CLA take advantage of its data assessment to maximize CLA's analysis and insight capabilities.

How you'll create opportunities in this role:

  • Strategy & Planning:
    • Collaborates with business teams to create roadmaps of strategic initiatives and data related requirements.
    • Lead the development, establishment, and enforcement of data quality and security standards across the firm.
    • Drive implementation and support of Master Data Management solution.
    • Direct the analysis of documentation and technical specifications for any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality and impact on existing data structures.
    • Visionary identifying and promoting opportunities across the enterprise for enhanced data usage.
  • Development & Deployment:
    • Assists with process capture and model using flowcharting tools.
    • Create data models and database designs working with the application development teams.
    • Ensure that that ETL and dashboard software development, software release and quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards, and accepted best practices.
    • Create methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data for ensuring software, systems, and product quality.
    • Determine the selection and appropriate usage of data aggregation, transformation and analysis tools.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee both dashboard and integration performance and data quality.
    • Works closely with Risk and Information Governance team understanding how teams are accessing and utilizing data to provide insights to their internal and external audience.
    • Manage all members of the Data Engineering team and ensure that aggressive deadlines are met.

What you will need:

  • 8 years of experience required, supervisory experience required

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Technical CompetenciesExtensive experience with both logical and physical database design utilizing technologies such as MS SQL, Postgres, Big Data technologies: Azure Datalake, Data Bricks, and Data Factories.

Well versed in API, Integration and ETL processes.

Fluent in SQL and SSIS.

Familiar with other tech programing language such as Java, Python or MS.Net.
