Summary
Provide Education Support Services required by Headquarters (HQ) Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Army Continuing Education System (ACES) in education offices at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) locations as indicated in the requirement.
Provide Army Continuing Education System - Education Support Services that supports Soldiers� professional and personal growth through a continuum of education programs and services that range from academic and career guidance to enhancement of job performance and skill qualifications and includes assistance to ease the transition of Soldiers returning to civilian life. Services include counseling, credentialing/licensure, testing, instruction, technological and automation services and administration support services at Army Education Centers.

Job Description
  • Monitor and document clients� education goals and Student Degree Plans (SDP)
  • Conduct education program briefings
  • Document all counselor support sessions in clients' education management system (
  • Provide information and guidance on Veterans� education
  • Assist Soldier's in completing requirements for admission into military schools or commissioning programs
  • Assist clients with school admission applications, maximizing Veterans' education benefits,
  • Provide education counseling to meet the interests and needs of Soldiers and Families.
  • Assisting in the establishment of education and/or career goals
  • Development of individual education plans in support of stated career/educational goals
  • Analyze and interpret test data and career/postsecondary education readiness
  • Facilitate enrollment in current and emerging ACES Programs
  • Schedule appropriate tests and assessments, read and interpret results
  • Create, work, and assist Soldiers in ArmyIgnitED
  • Provide staff assistance in carrying out successful special events
  • Calculate promotion points and preparing promotion point memoranda and other documentation

Qualifications
The minimum education and experience required to perform these services/tasks include:
  • Proficiency of the U.S. Department of Education postsecondary education system
  • Experience in soldier development programs, and career guidance and planning techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in any area of study from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education that includes or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below.
  • Tests and measurement : Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests.
  • Adult education: Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities.
  • Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs.
  • Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs.
  • Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner.
  • Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation.
  • Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems.
  • Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of adult education counseling experience
  • A favorable NACI investigation is required
  • ArmyIgnitED.com training is required
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computer operations and be able to successfully use online education systems such as ArmyIgnitED.com and provide interpretation of personal and skill qualification instruments.
  • Must be familiar with Army and Veteran's education benefits and be informed of any changes affecting such benefits
