Job Summary
The Associate Director of Operations plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, mission-aligned services across the program. This position provides respectful, inclusive, and professional oversight to service teams while maintaining a safe, supportive, and well-functioning environment for youth, staff, and visitors. The Associate Director is responsible for a broad range of operational functions including safety management, building operations, staffing oversight, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. This leader helps maintain program excellence by ensuring daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

In partnership with senior leadership, the Associate Director fosters a culture of respect and belonging for employees and community partners of all backgrounds. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff in accordance with agency policies and applicable employment laws; providing clear direction and performance feedback; and ensuring teams have a strong understanding of their roles, expectations, and tools needed for success. The Associate Director maintains proficiency in agency operating systems—including the EHR and HRIS—and uses this knowledge to support staff and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.

This role also oversees the program’s physical environment and operational infrastructure. Key duties include coordinating with maintenance staff to track work orders, manage preventive and utility maintenance, and maintain annual equipment records. The Associate Director ensures appropriate ordering and purchasing of facility and unit supplies, maintains accurate operational records, and collaborates closely with site leadership to support fiscally responsible purchasing and adherence to budgetary goals. Through strong communication, thoughtful decision-making, and a commitment to safety and quality, the Associate Director supports a stable, compliant, and mission-driven program environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Operations Management, or social services related field required.

Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Experience/Skills: Two to five years of experience in an operations or facility maintenance field, preferably in management or leadership and in a healthcare environment. Preferred experience supervising members of a multidisciplinary team. Requires Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.
