Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all budgetary, people development, safety, quality, performance and customer experience for the outbound shipping are of the ShipCenter.
  • Manage and lead a team of supervisors and team leads; coach and mentor the team to ensure performance objectives are met and build positive crew relations and leadership bench strength within the ShipCenter.
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold operations managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
  • Leverage the supervisors and team leads by brainstorming ideas and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other lean initiatives to enable functional area and the ShipCenter to meet and exceed business plan.
  • Participate in the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts (where applicable) and across the network.
  • Ensure the administration of policies/procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Professionally address issues with the management team and crew members, individually and collectively, utilizing the proper resources.
  • Work closely with support staff (HR, finance, facilities, safety, IT and other operations managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, industrial engineering, operations engineering, mechanical engineering, supply chain or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in a distribution/warehouse/fulfillment center
  • Flexible with a multiple-shift operation based on business needs.
  • Must be relocatable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean and continuous improvement with experience leading projects to completion. Prior experience within a large sized warehouse
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to analyze information effectively and consistently.
  • Ability to complete assignments within established timelines.
