General Summary:


The Director of Field Operations is responsible for the execution, performance, and leadership of all field-related activities within Ace Technologies, including special projects, contract work, service operations, inspections, and specialized systems.

This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of life safety, security, and technology solutions across all projects and service lines. The Director of Field Operations drives operational excellence, workforce productivity, and customer satisfaction while supporting the company's mission.


The Director of Field Operations reports to the Vice President of Ace Technologies and serves as a key leader in executing business strategy through field performance.

Responsibilities:

Field Operations Leadership

  • Lead all field operations across service, projects, contracts, inspections, and specialized systems.
  • Ensure consistent execution of work in alignment with company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Establish clear accountability for performance across all field leadership roles.
  • Drive operational discipline in scheduling, labor management, and job execution.
  • Responsible for actively promoting and maintaining high employee morale to foster a positive, productive, and engaged work environment.


Project & Service Execution

  • Oversee execution of special projects, contract work, and service operations to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Monitor job profitability, labor productivity, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between field teams, project management, and internal support functions.
  • Drive responsiveness and efficiency in service delivery and inspections.

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety across all field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA codes, and all applicable safety regulations.
  • Partner with Safety and HR to address incidents, enforce standards, and promote proactive safety practices.
  • Ensure all technicians maintain required certifications, licenses, and training.

Technical Excellence & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all installations meet design specifications, code requirements, and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership support for complex or escalated field issues.
  • Maintain high standards across life safety, security, and technology systems.
  • Support ongoing technical training and development to keep pace with evolving technologies.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers responsible for various field functions.
  • Build a strong leadership pipeline and succession plan within field operations.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain the resources and capacity necessary to efficiently manage and complete backlog.
  • Provide support to business development in securing maintenance opportunities on completed projects and identifying additional work that can be developed into ongoing services for Ace Technologies.

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement across scheduling, dispatch, installation, inspections, and service workflows.
  • Implement standardized operating procedures and enforce adherence.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to support growth.
  • Improve communication and coordination between field and office teams.

Customer Experience & Relationship Management

  • Ensure exceptional customer experience across all field interactions.
  • Support resolution of escalated customer concerns.
  • Partner with Business Development to support client retention and growth.
  • Maintain a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and professionalism.

Resource Planning & Workforce Management

  • Lead workforce planning efforts including staffing, scheduling, and utilization.
  • Ensure proper allocation of labor and resources across projects and service demands.
  • Collaborate with leadership on hiring needs and workforce development strategies.

Position Requirements:

  • License:Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in field operations within low voltage, life safety, security, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing multiple field teams and service lines.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm, security systems, access control, and network infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational performance and team accountability.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor productivity, and job profitability.
  • Experience leading a $30-50M low voltage company preferred; or $50-75M in electrical operations.
