Position: CAD Designer
Travel: This position will require around 25% travel
Job Summary
The CAD Designer is a key member of the Alleguard technical/engineering team and is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by Alleguard customers, engineers, sales and manufacturing representatives, and plays a crucial role in the Alleguard sales and manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
  • Creating detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings as per the instructions and specifications provided by customers, sales representatives, manufacturing personnel, and engineers.
  • Revising and updating existing drawings reflecting design changes
  • Provided manufacturing equipment codes based on CAD drawings and equipment software (Shop Cam, G coding) to Alleguard manufacturing facilities.
  • Provide design takeoffs for Alleguard products, including roofing, geotechnical fill materials, and other products using engineering software.
  • Creating and altering construction sketches
  • Following project schedules and deadlines
  • Maintaining organized work files and project documentation

Qualifications
  • Proven work experience as a CAD Designer
  • Proficient knowledge of CAD software and other drafting tools and software
  • Excellent technical design skills
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
  • Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • computer literacy is a must. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in CAD, BIM, SketchUp, Word, and Excel
  • Strong relationship building skills - must be able to forge positive and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Flexible and adaptable; will be willing to assist with or take on assignments outside of his/her defined role when required.
  • Degree in drafting, engineering, or related field
