Job description

Abacus Technology is seeking a Computer Technician to provide technical support for a variety of IT issues for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Fort Huachuca.  This is a full-time position.


  • Perform Tier 1-3 deskside incident resolution of workstations, printers and peripheral devices.
  • Managing Active Directory, approve systems for reimage/wipe and move to correct system active OU or system deleted OU.
  • Ensure proper computer system setup/operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of diagnostic and help desk request tracking tools, as well as remote and in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
  • Assist with network hardware, servers and software installation, troubleshooting and support.
  • Assist with asset management and inventory of IT assets.
  • Assist with security vulnerability remediation.
  • Return failed equipment to good working order and demonstrate the equipment to the user.
  • Work as a team member in the installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of computer equipment, peripherals, and applications.
  • Perform repairs and conduct operational checks and preventive maintenance service on computer systems, related systems, and office equipment.
  • Work with System Administrators to maintain the network.

7+ years experience in a technical support role.  HS diploma or GED.  Must hold one of the following certifications: A+, Network+, and/or Security+.  Microsoft certification desired.  A college degree may reduce the years of experience required.  Experience installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining software, hardware, configurations, and peripherals.  Able to isolate equipment/system/software malfunctions and restore failed equipment to good working order.  Experience conducting operational checks and replacing defective parts and assemblies.  Knowledge of networking concepts such as cable making/repair, IP address schema, and LAN implementation and configuration.  Familiarity with video teleconferencing systems.  Proficient with anti-virus software and configuration.  Solid customer service skills, including good communication and the ability to demonstrate professionalism.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI Access (TS/SCI).
