Hardware Engineering provides RF expertise to develop Radar solutions across the Raytheon portfolio. We are seeking a Senior Radar Engineer to support the development of complex Radio Frequency (RF) products and/or Radar systems.

This role requires a self-driven engineer with strong technical leadership, organizational discipline, and communication skills who excels in a fast-paced, budget- and schedule-critical environment. The selected candidate will support and/or lead efforts that could range from concept development through integration and production while solving complex technical challenges.

You will collaborate closely with Systems, Mechanical, Digital, Power, Test, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and/or external suppliers to deliver high-performance RF solutions that meet mission and customer requirements.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following. Specific duties will vary based on department, program assignment and business needs.

  • Architect, design, and develop RF hardware such as:
    • Transmitter, receiver, and/or exciter circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
    • Seekers, Active Electronically Steered Antennas (AESAs), antennas, radomes
    • Radar and RF subsystems
  • Lead hardware efforts across different parts of the product lifecycle: R&D, design, qualification, and/or transition to production support
  • Perform component, circuit, and/or subsystem-level analysis, simulation, and trade studies
  • Integrate and test RF components and/or subsystems in laboratory and production environments
  • Develop test procedures and plans; execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) and qualification testing; document results
  • Oversee material delivery, build activities, and hardware test execution
  • Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure technical performance, cost, and schedule alignment
  • Provide technical management and oversight of suppliers, including interfacing on design, build, deliveries, and issue resolution

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • RF hardware (e.g., transmitters, receivers, exciters, and/or antennas) simulation, design, fabrication, integration, test, supplier support, and/or production support
    • RF/Radar subsystem/system requirements development and validation
    • Strong hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, phase noise analyzers, and/or antenna measurement systems)

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
