The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME)  is responsible for the development, optimization, and industrialization of manufacturing processes for engine components. This role supports the ramp-up of machining operations in Waukesha, ensuring robust, cost-effective, and high-quality production aligned with INNIO standards. 

This is unique opportunity to use your expertise in the support the start-up of a new production line of generators.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and optimize machining processes for conrod manufacturing (e.g., milling, drilling, honing, finishing) 
  • Define and maintain manufacturing BOMs, routings, and work instructions, including standard times 
  • Support production ramp-up, including line setup, process validation, and troubleshooting 
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality, cycle time, and cost using Lean and Six Sigma principles 
  • Analyze tooling, consumables, and machining parameters to improve process capability and reduce cost  
  • Collaborate with Engineering/Design to ensure manufacturability of conrod components 
  • Lead or support industrialization activities, including fixture design and equipment specification 
  • Work cross-functionally with global teams (e.g., Jenbach) to transfer and standardize processes 
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance 

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field 
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining or production engineering, ideally with precision components (e.g., engine parts, rods, cranktrain) 
  • Experience with assembly and/or machining of heavy industrial equipment. 
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling concepts 
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and manufacturing data structures (BOMs, routings)Ability to travel to Austria up to 10% of time, including for a long-term training assignment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T 
  • Solid project management and problem-solving skills 
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to support training, knowledge transfer, and production rampup, including for extended training periods 

Additional Information:

  • Location: Waukesha, WI
  • Work Schedule: Onsite Monday through Friday
  • Travel: Up to 20% travel, with the greatest demand at the start of the role-including approximately 2.5 months in Jenbach, Austria.
