Manager Marine Spatial Planning Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The skeyes Urbanism department handles requests for (an advisory) opinion regarding buildings, wind turbines, structures and installations that may have an impact on aviation safety. In this context, the department plays a key role in ensuring the safety of air navigation, supporting spatial planning projects and coordinating files, stakeholder relations and policy monitoring.

As our Spatial Planning & Airspace Safeguarding Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team, monitoring strategic priorities and coordinating complex files. You will ensure structure, clear priorities and efficient collaboration between internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will play a key role in drawing up, implementing and monitoring policy and action plans.

You combine strong people management skills with a policy-oriented and organisational approach and are able to bring together complex interests in a constructive manner.

Support and advice to management

• you advise the Executive Committee based on your expertise, analyses and knowledge of the field;
• you translate strategic objectives into concrete action plans and policy plans;
• you report regularly on progress, priorities, risks and operational issues;
• you support change processes and encourage collaboration between teams and stakeholders.

Policy and stakeholder coordination

• you are responsible for drawing up, implementing and monitoring policy and action plans;
• you oversee the structure, priorities and efficient monitoring of files and processes within the department;
• you build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as the central point of contact for government bodies and partners;
• you represent skeyes in consultation sessions, coordination meetings and external contacts with stakeholders;
• you ensure clear and professional communication regarding policy decisions, procedures and changes;
• you manage complex files and deal constructively with conflict situations and conflicting interests;
• you monitor the quality of processes and procedures and make adjustments where necessary, based on internal and external recommendations;
• you are responsible for monitoring and evaluating policy and strategic priorities within the domain;
• you support the implementation and correct application of the available tools and systems (including CRM, GIS and SharePoint);
• you ensure the further roll-out and follow-up of strategic projects and roadmaps within the department.

You organise and plan the team’s work and ensure a clear division of tasks and efficient collaboration.

This includes, among other things, the following:

• you coach, support and motivate staff;
• you create a working environment with clear priorities, structure and accountability;
• you encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team;
• you monitor staff performance, development needs and training requirements;
• you are responsible for KPIs, reporting and operational follow-up;
• you ensure that HR processes are applied correctly;
• you manage budgets and monitor them closely.

You support various departments in applying procedures and monitoring files, ensuring that projects are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.

What makes you our perfect Spatial Planning & Airspace Safeguarding Manager?

• you hold a master’s degree or have equivalent experience;
• you have relevant experience in people management and leading teams;
• you have experience in stakeholder management, including external stakeholders and government bodies;
• you are skilled at creating structure, setting priorities and managing complex files;
• you have experience in drafting, implementing and monitoring policy and action plans;
• you communicate fluently and professionally with senior management and the Executive Committee;
• you have strong conflict management skills and are able to reconcile differing interests in a constructive manner;
• experience in urban planning, urban design or a similar field is an advantage;
• you have strong organisational skills, are decisive and result-oriented;
• you thrive in a complex and changing environment;
• you communicate fluently in Dutch and French and have a good working knowledge of English;
• you have good general IT skills and are familiar with geographic information systems (GIS);
