Job Title: Shop Helper - Processing

Employee Type: Full Time, Hourly

Reports to: Processing Manager

Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA

Job Duties

• Sweeps & Collects residual shot peen on processing floor to load into Classifier for sorting.

• Secure and organize storage of shot peen for Shot Peen formers.

• Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads materials and other components required for the production process;

• Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.

• Helping higher skilled personnel by supplying or holding larger parts or materials;

• Assist in areas where more than one person is needed to perform an operation.

• Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment

• Participate in organization of shop tools and parts

• Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, or cleaning work areas and equipment

• Move and stage materials, finished products and equipment throughout the facility

• Perform necessary housekeeping activities, this includes, but is not limited to, the picking up of all debris that results from production activities, this includes proper storage of all materials and equipment when they are not in use as well as all other materials which may be offensive or hazardous

• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane moving parts only as directed and trained

• Deliver parts and or materials to work areas as required

• Assist facilities maintenance if assistance is required.

• Perform other duties as assigned by shift supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required

• Previous manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred

• Able to read and interpret job orders and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manual

Physical Requirements

• Some overtime may be necessary with or without notice

• Must have the ability to be trained and certified as a Forklift & Crane Operator.

• Ability to regularly and frequently lift 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, and to walk for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve items. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and service requests. Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs. Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
