Job description

Own the Shop Floorโ€”Houston, TX 77041

Are you the leader who keeps complex machining programs on track while elevating quality and safety? As our Machine Shop Production Manager, youโ€™ll direct daily operations, mentor a skilled team, and drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and equipment.

Imagine This

The schedule is tight. A critical order needs to ship by weekโ€™s end. You re-sequence jobs, fineโ€‘tune tooling with Engineering, pull forward preventive maintenance, and coach the team through a setup change. By Friday, parts pass inspection the first timeโ€”and the shipment leaves on schedule. Thatโ€™s the kind of impact youโ€™ll make.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage dayโ€‘toโ€‘day machining activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop machinists while reinforcing collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Design, implement, and standardize machining procedures that increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Track equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Work with Engineering and Production to refine machining strategies, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and promote a safe, orderly workplace.
  • Review production data to pinpoint gaps; implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
  • Deliver clear reports to senior management on output, quality metrics, and team development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in machining operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of machining processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Track record of motivating and developing diverse teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problemโ€‘solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements within a machining environment.
  • Comfort with machining software and shop tools, including CAM and measurement systems.

If you thrive on precision, people leadership, and steady improvement, weโ€™d like to meet you in Houston, TX 77041.
