Roemer Machine is currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Manual Machinist in Davenport, Iowa.


OurManual Machinists set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision metal components. Day to day, you'll read blueprints and technical drawings, machine parts to specified tolerances, and verify your finished work using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.


What makes you successful in this position?

  • Previous experience with manual machining methods, tooling, metal properties, speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
  • Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working in a physical role. You'll be on your feet operating machinery and tools throughout the day, which could also include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work safely and independently in an industrial machine shop environment.


This position works Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm each day, with the option for overtime. Pay for this position starts at $30/hour, based on experience. All candidates must possess a high school diploma, valid drivers license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
