Internship Duration: 8 weeks

Location: Womelsdorf, Bethel, PA

Reports To: Plant Manager / Operations Supervisor / Supply Chain Inventory & Purchasing Manager

Employment Type: Full-time internship (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)


About the Role

The Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience in plant operations, manufacturing processes, and leadership development within a fast-paced production environment. This structured 8-week internship is designed to provide exposure to safety culture, production workflows, quality and compliance standards, staffing, performance metrics, and leadership practices.

The intern will collaborate with supervisors, team leads, and managers to support daily operations and contribute to operational projects while building a strong foundation in manufacturing management principles.


Key Responsibilities

· Adhere to all GMPs, food safety requirements, and company policies.

· Participate in onboarding activities and plant tours to understand overall operations.

· Shadow supervisors and team leads to observe daily production processes and decision-making.

· Learn production flow, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and key equipment functions.

· Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift planning exercises.

· Observe and support quality control and compliance processes.

· Collect and track data to support KPI monitoring and performance reporting.

· Engage in Learning & Development activities and document process improvements.

· Observe leadership practices and communication strategies across teams.

· Prepare and deliver a final capstone presentation summarizing internship experience and key learnings.

· Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.

Qualifications

· Undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.

· Strong interest in manufacturing operations and leadership development.

· Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

· Must be able to work on-site in Womelsdorf/Bethel, PA.
