Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division seeks a Learning & Development Leader for our Plattsburgh, NY mill. This new role will build and advance workforce capability by developing talent, preserving critical knowledge, and strengthening organizational capability. You'll partner with operations, maintenance, quality, EH&S and HR to design and implement learning strategies that boost employee effectiveness and long-term business performance. The position offers the chance to establish formal learning systems, modernize processes, and reduce knowledge-transfer risks from impending retirements.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with mill objectives.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, EH&S, HR, and other functional leaders to identify capability gaps and prioritize development needs.
  • Create sustainable systems for workforce training, qualification, certification, and capability development.
  • Lead efforts to capture, document, and transfer critical technical and operational knowledge from experienced employees to future generations of talent.
  • Modernize learning processes by improving training systems, records management, and the accessibility of learning resources.
  • Build and maintain training curricula, standards, and learning pathways for key roles across the facility.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through performance measures and capability outcomes, making improvements where needed.
  • Facilitate classroom, on-the-job, and blended learning experiences when appropriate.
  • Support the development of leadership, technical, and professional capabilities across the workforce.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert paper-based procedures, training materials, and tribal knowledge into scalable learning solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement within learning systems and processes to improve employee capability, engagement, and business results.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving training, workforce development, capability-building, or organizational learning programs.
  • Experience partnering with multiple stakeholder groups to drive change and achieve business objectives.
  • Experience developing processes, systems, or programs in environments with evolving structure and priorities.

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 to $130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
