The Learning Experience in Rock Hill is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate South Carolina First Steps 4K Instructional Assistant to join our team. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher in creating an engaging and nurturing environment for young learners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of children while working in a collaborative and supportive educational setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for 4-year-old children based on South Carolina First Steps 4K guidelines.
  • Support the lead teacher in creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and facilitate engaging lessons and activities that promote active participation and learning.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to children, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Observe and document children's progress and behavior, maintaining accurate records and sharing observations with the lead teacher and parents.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support the lead teacher in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Familiarity with South Carolina First Steps 4K guidelines and early childhood education best practices.
  • Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and build positive relationships with children and parents.
