What you will be doing:
We are in search of a bilingual English & Korean speaking Cloud Engineering Manager to oversee the design, operation, and management of HAEA's proprietary OpenStack-based private cloud platform. This role requires close collaboration with the global operations team and headquarters in Korea to ensure stable, efficient, and secure platform operations. Beyond technical oversight, you will play a key role in driving the business growth of private cloud services-managing budgets, planning strategic investments, and promoting continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. The manager also collaborates closely with global and HQ (Korea) engineering teams to lead technical development, service enhancements, and the standardization of operations.
Success in this role requires deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, strong leadership skills, a business-oriented mindset, and the ability to foster collaboration and communication across diverse teams.
  • Lead and mentor the HAEA Cloud Team and contractors (Cloud Operations Center) in planning and executing cloud operations
  • Design, deploy, operate, and optimize the OpenStack-based private cloud platform, managing virtualization, networking, compute, and storage infrastructure
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the private cloud platform to ensure reliability, availability, and performance
  • Own end-to-end financial management of the business public cloud infrastructures, including revenue forecasting, cost control, and P&L accountability
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and platform components
  • Collaborate with Hyundai AutoEver Korea (HQ) on technical, architectural, and operational initiatives
  • Coordinate with Hyundai Motor Company Korea (HQ) on technical and architectural matters
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across a wide range of infrastructure activities, including installation, upgrades, security, performance tuning, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for operational support, including major incident (P1/P2) management and emergency response
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders in both the U.S. and Korea, ensuring alignment, transparency, and consistent service operations
What we require from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, security, monitoring, and cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies; experience with public cloud platforms such as OpenStack is preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead infrastructure integration projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational improvement
  • Motivation to lead public cloud operations and transition toward cloud-native technologies
  • Effective communication skills for working with global teams and customers
  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is REQUIRED

Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
