Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Molding shift processor will oversee daily production schedules. Molding Shift Processor is responsible for maintaining production cycle, overseeing temperatures and timing per scientific molding processes. This role is also responsible for ensuring efficiency of process and meeting quality specifications set forth by customer requirements.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, tool room, quality control, and management to facilitate production goals.
  • Work with Department Manager, operators, and production scheduler to assign jobs and meet production demand.
  • Train and assist machine operators.
  • Establish proper molding conditions including safety requirements.
  • Eliminate production of defective parts and products.
  • Ensures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delays.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Coordinates with maintenance or tooling to repair equipment issues.
  • All other duties assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs and oversees the production floor and staff
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Responsible for providing OJT and procedural training.
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least three years of relevant experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
  • Ability to help the production team achieve required production target
  • Optimum utilization of resources
  • Understanding of quality product requirements
  • Computer skills
  • Basic mathematics

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products
  • Troubleshoots throughout the molding process to ensure maximum machine utilization

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Exposed to work in manufacturing /machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residues

  • Work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all times

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Physical ability to operate and repair machines
  • Lift and carry a maximum of 45 pounds
  • Wear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctly
  • Periods of standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crouching, climbing, twisting, lifting and pushing
