Job Description - IT Manager, TWST Events


Brief Description

The IT Manager manages secure access to company systems, oversees technology assets, supports core enterprise platforms, and serves as the organization’s in-house technical support helpdesk. The role advances objectives in security, compliance, efficiency, and financial stewardship—helping meet access control requirements, reduce risk, optimize IT costs, and ensure enterprise systems meet business needs. The IT Manager supports 75-100 employees across all departments, works closely with Operations, Finance, HR, and Compliance, and reports to the Director of Operations.


Duties and Responsibilities

Access Control & License Management

  • Process and track user access and license provisioning, modification, and revocation across scoped enterprise systems in alignment with company policy.
  • Maintain complete and review-ready audit trails of access and license activity. 
  • Support periodic access and license reviews, escalating exceptions or irregularities to IT leadership for resolution.

IT Asset & Endpoint Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of company IT assets - from procurement and deployment through reprovisioning and decommissioning - to ensure accurate inventory, secure handling, and cost-effective utilization through coordinated purchasing and vendor partnerships.
  • Maintain audit-ready asset records and support vulnerability tracking, patch coordination, and compliance with security and lifecycle policies.
  • Manage endpoint provisioning and offboarding workflows in alignment with Finance, HR, and IT leadership to ensure proper access, configuration, and asset recovery.

Enterprise Systems & Technical Support

  • Serve as the organization’s in-house helpdesk, providing technical assistance to staff for hardware, software, and system access issues.
  • Support the configuration and daily operation of core enterprise platforms in coordination with system owners and vendors.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field; or 2–3 years of equivalent experience in IT management or 4-6 years of experience in support, operations, or coordination. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., Zoom, HubSpot) and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience handling technology assets or user account administration is a plus.
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is helpful but not required.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are a plus but not required for this role.

  • Devices and endpoints maintain secure configurations in line with company policy, with vulnerabilities tracked and remediated promptly.


Location & Salary Range

This role requires regular in-person presence at TWST’s New York City headquarters and New Jersey warehouse to manage IT infrastructure, provide local user support, and maintain company technology assets. The expected on-site schedule is two days per week in New Jersey and one day per week in New York City, on average. When on-site presence is not required, the role may be performed remotely, provided that business needs and response times are met.
