The Role
Provides long term direction for safety compliance and programs within Wells Enterprises. Develops and manages corporate safety efforts across the organization including leadership, strategy and execution.
What You'll Do
  • Establish and uphold safety processes that adhere to regulatory standards across all company facilities, ensuring robust mechanisms are in place for reporting incidents and injuries
  • Spearhead the strategic development and deployment of safety initiatives, collaborating with facility safety managers and safety professionals to achieve consistent implementation, execution, and clear communication of safety plans.
  • Assist facility safety managers in career development of safety professionals by enhancing their skills, competencies, and familiarity with established safety practices and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for coaching organizational leaders, fostering a work environment where a positive safety culture is prioritized and seamlessly integrated into daily operations
  • Conduct thorough audits of existing safety programs, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted enhancements.
  • Oversight to ensure that every employee receives comprehensive training on safety regulations and programs, maintaining strict compliance across the organization
  • Active collaboration with the operations team to identify opportunities where the organization can maintain high safety standards and drive productivity, ensuring that cost-saving measures never undermine the integrity of workplace safety
  • Introduce and monitor safety KPIs to measure the effectiveness of both established and newly developed programs, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company objectives

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Business, Industrial Technology, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in safety and health related field. Management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable state and federal laws as it applies to safety. Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Problem solving skills to achieve effective resolutions.
  • Developed communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Emergency response background including HAZMAT, Technical Rescue, Emergency/Fire Preparedness.
  • Ability to plan, lead, coordinate and evaluate problems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with small and large groups.
  • Travel requirement for this role will be 20 percent to Henderson and Dunkirk facilities.
