District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties. One of the fastest growing regions in the state, District 2 includes rural and urban communities with diverse public health challenges.

Job Responsibilities Under limited supervision, manages programs, staff, clinical services and fiscal processes of a local public health department. Identifies community partners, providers and agencies and develops relationships to further public health efforts in the community.

Additional but not limited to: Supervise, guides &/or instructs work assignments to subordinate staff. Assist DND with training of new nurses Execute Protocol Training Oversee Quality Assurance activities in the Health Departments Oversee CLIA lab audits Coordinate coverage of nurses during Public Health emergencies Coordinate outreach events Be responsible for Quality Assurance activities in the Health Departments Oversee lab processes Coordinate coverage of nurses during Public Health emergencies Coordinate outreach events Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults Gives correct needed vaccines to children and adults Gives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certifications Conducts audits for school and day cares Conducts scoliosis screenings for schools Conducts hearing/vision/dental screenings needed for school attendance Cross-trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse Spv (HCP193) or position equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university Superior interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently under established clinic protocols Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with clients Self-directed Ability to complete tasks without detailed supervision Excellent computer skills Experience vaccinating all age groups Ability to read, write and speak Spanish Additional Information To be considered for employment at District 2 Public Health you must complete an online application.
