This position is responsible for the development of tooling for the manufacturing extrusion line(s) while fostering a work environment that supports safety, productivity, quality, teamwork, and the Reschcor company culture and core values.

Position Overview

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Sets up and operates vertical and CNC mills to produce tooling and die fixtures including
  • Sets up and operates manual and CNC lathes to produce tooling and die fixtures including
  • Sets up and operates wire EDM machines which includes:  pulling slugs, changing wire spools, threading wire and changing filters, as needed.
  • Operates manual grinders to accurately grind tooling and parts to a specific dimension
  • Operates a drill presses and saws properly for specific outcomes
  • Responsible to perform appropriate inspection and quality control tasks using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and granite plates
  • Has the ability to develop tooling to very tight tolerances.
  • Maintains dies and tools for extrusion lines
  • Understands basic AutoCad/Esprit Software to draw projects
  • Supports other departments through tool and die repair orders
  • Properly assembles new extrusion dies, jig and fixtures, and punch dies
  • Very proficient in reading blue prints and diagrams
  • Communicates with the Manager when issues occur that require more than a quick fix.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Displays effective communication skills.
  • Other Miscellaneous duties are required
  • Excellent attendance

  • 4 years of hands on experience is strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Certifications in machine tool technology are preferred but not required
  • Experience operating grinders, milling machines, lathes, etc.
  • Ability to utilize blueprints, micrometers and calipers is required
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Possess strong time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve issues as they arise
  • Attentive to detail since precision is a key
  • Highly organized with strong documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient math and analytical skills

Physical Requirements

  • Considerable standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination is required
  • Arm-hand steadiness to manipulate machine parts
  • Must be able to wear ear plugs or other noise cancelling devices as the noise level in the tool room can be high
