Job description

Job Summary:
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Georgia Academy for the Blind is recruiting for a High School Math Teacher. Under general supervision, provides a comprehensive high school math education program to meet the needs of students who are visually impaired and/or multi-disabled in a residential school setting. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Description of Duties:
  • Responsibilities include organizing and teaching Math classes
  • Assess and document students' educational needs to develop and implement appropriate instructional plans
  • Develop appropriate instructional materials
  • Utilize acceptable and innovative instructional techniques and practices
  • Must maintain an effective learning environment
  • Ensure that credentials remain current
  • In some instances, may supervise additional classroom attendants
  • Must follow professional practices consistent with the system and compiles with state administration regulations and policies
