Position Summary:

The Manager, Project Management provides strategic and operational leadership for the Project Management function, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery of projects across the organization. This role partners closely with cross-functional leaders to support new product development, operational initiatives, and enterprise priorities while continuously improving project management processes, tools, and capability. Project Managers are responsible for program execution, coordination, communication and escalation. Function leaders retain accountability for technical execution, staffing, and deliverable quality. 


Position Responsibilities:

Project Management Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Project Management function, setting standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ensure consistent application of project governance, planning, risk management, and reporting across initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support New Product Development and major cross-functional initiatives.
  • Translate project goals and strategy into executable project plans and prioritized portfolios.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on project health, tradeoffs, capacity, and risk.

Portfolio & Resource Management

  • Oversee project portfolio planning, prioritization, and capacity management.
  • Ensure alignment between business priorities and available resources.
  • Track and manage project budgets and identify resource conflicts
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; recommend mitigation strategies.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, implement, and evolve project management frameworks, tools, and metrics.
  • Drive improvements in speed, predictability, quality, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Evaluate and implement tools or systems that enhance visibility and execution.

People Leadership

  • Coach and develop project managers to build a strong, scalable team with a keen ability to help them successfully work within a matrix organization.  
  • Provide clear expectations, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and constructive problem-solving.

Communication & Reporting

  • Establish clear, transparent project communication at all levels.
  • Provide concise executive-level reporting on status, risks, and decision points.
  • Facilitate alignment and decision-making across functional boundaries.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or a related field. 
  • 7-10 years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of cross-functional teams. 
  • 2-3 years of people management experience. 
  • Proven experience managing complex and matrixed projects, preferably in product development or manufacturing environments. 
  • Strong understanding of traditional and agile project management methodologies. 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Oracle and Salesforce. 
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting New Product Development in a hardware, technology, or industrial environment, in particular electro-mechanical solutions with integrated software and/or software applications.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement and organizational change.
