Job description

The Swine Finishing Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing finishing operations, driving production performance, and leading a team of supervisors and contract growers. This role serves as a critical link between company leadership and producers, ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance, and adherence to animal welfare and biosecurity standards. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence change across a distributed network of growers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Lead and support Finishing Service Supervisors and contract growers across multiple regions
- Drive operational excellence through performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze production data and implement strategies to improve KPIs year over year
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and quality assurance standards
- Manage grower relationships and enforce contract terms and expectations
- Oversee financial performance including budgeting, cost control, and planning
- Serve as liaison between leadership and producers to align on priorities and performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Ensure safety standards and proper maintenance of equipment and facilities
Qualifications & Competencies
- 5-7+ years of swine or pork production leadership experience
- Experience in large-scale production systems (Top 12 pork producers preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to influence change and drive operational improvements
- Experience managing teams and working with contract growers
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
