Job description

At The Moran, we believe memorable events are rooted in thoughtful hospitality, exceptional service, and beautifully executed experiences. The Event Sales Manager plays a key role in bringing these moments to life by generating catering business, building strong client relationships, and ensuring seamless event execution.

This role is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of meetings, social events, and catering functions while collaborating closely with the Food + Beverage, Sales, and Events teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.


Requested Tasks
  • Generate catering revenue by selling meetings, social events, and special functions hosted at the property
  • Respond to inquiries, develop proposals, and negotiate contracts for catering events
  • Conduct site tours and client meetings to showcase event spaces and offerings
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, social event planners, and local partners
  • Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accurate event execution
  • Collaborate closely with Banquet, Culinary, and Operations teams to coordinate event details
  • Monitor event logistics including room setup, menu selections, and service requirements
  • Ensure all client expectations are met and guest experiences exceed expectations
  • Maintain accurate records within sales and event management systems
  • Support departmental revenue goals and overall hotel sales strategy
  • Adhere to Makereadyโ€™s Guiding Principles, policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as needed


Requested Capabilities
  • Prior experience in catering sales, event sales, or hospitality sales preferred
  • Experience in hotel or venue-based catering environments strongly preferred
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales/event management systems preferred
  • Professional, polished, and guest-focused demeanor
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property during events and client tour
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds related to event materials or setup
