Job description

Summary: Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, contracting and executing property wide entertainment and audio/visual strategies that drive incremental revenue to the Rivers Casino property. Interfaces with other departmental and operations personnel to communicate and/or coordinate with those individuals in order to ensure all needs for entertainment events are communicated with responsible staff on all deliverables. Ensure all entertainment and audio/visual objectives are achieved while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assists in planning annual entertainment strategy for property for multiple venues.
  • Work closely with property marketing and corporate entertainment and production teams to evaluate and execute strategies to maximize return on investment and show attendance, while meeting overall company marketing goals.
  • Assists banquets and catering with client specific entertainment and A/V needs conducted on property.
  • Create, plan, adhere to, and execute the entertainment departmental budget.
  • Work with Rust Street Gaming and artist management for booking entertainment acts as well utilizing local Buyers/Promoters when needed/required.
  • Work with Rush Street Gaming and booking agencies on negotiating artist costs, buyouts, and contracts; review riders for artists (hotels, transportation, catering, production and special needs).
  • Book house bands/DJs, special event entertainment, celebrity appearances and strolling entertainment as required.
  • Lead and execute the advance with the artist and work extensively with internal Audio/Visual Technical staff to ensure production and technical specifications are met.
  • Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and working with outside vendors, including but not limited to, sound companies and crew needs in order to execute the entertainment at the highest level.
  • Responsible for the presentation of all live entertainment; attends performances; monitors performances for material and production standards; ensure entertainers and vendors meet Rivers Standards.
  • Attend performances for evaluation and research of demographics for possible future local, regional, and national touring acts at other venues.
  • Responsible for tracking other large performances/events throughout the market which could impact ticket sales and revenue, while analyzing industry trends, talent routing, budgeting, and individual show ticket pricing.
  • Work in conjunction with corporate team and sister properties to book/negotiate national acts to rout mutually agreed upon entertainers.
  • Responsible for compiling proformas for all ticketed/comped events and working closely with finance on post show analysis as well as determining and achieving measures of success.
  • Responsible for researching ticket pricing based on artist and market.
  • Serve as primary contact for artists' tour managers/agents.
  • Work with Food & Beverage on booking availability in all entertainment venues.
  • Work with the Marketing department to create and maintain the master booking calendar.
  • Coordinate development of advertising materials to support entertainment.
  • Schedule on-sale dates based on contract execution and work with the ticketing team to ensure contract needs are adhered to.
  • Arrange for billing or payment in accordance with contract agreement.
  • Generate accounting accruals for monthly entertainment expenses.
  • Assist in creating promotional themed events involving entertainment.
  • Work in conjunction with all applicable departments, including but not limited to Facilities, Security, EVS, and Food & Beverage, in preparation of, during, and after a performance.
  • Establish, update, and ensure full compliance with department Internal Controls, policies,

procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain and utilize data/networking via Pollstar or other entertainment memberships
  • Performs other duties requested or assigned.
  • Supports all service initiatives and participates in analysis, when needed
  • Complies with all casino rules and regulations
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or entertainment equivalent experience.
  • 2 years' experience in Casino Entertainment or relevant industry
  • 2 years of Management experience required
  • 2 years' experience in negotiating and booking with national and local agents for entertainment
  • 2 years of Audio/Visual/Sound experience as it relates to executing concerts

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed both in an office, on the casino floor, event space or at offsite location
  • Hours of work will vary based on the monthly marketing calendar and average at least 40 hours per week and will vary between daytime and early evening hours, typically
  • Holiday and weekend work schedules will also vary
  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
