Job description

Overview We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the upstream product strategy, systems architecture, and requirements definition for our Beauty & Wellness SaaS platform. This role owns the discovery and definition phase of the product lifecycle translating business strategy into deeply structured technical specifications that guide engineering execution. You will be responsible for analyzing competitive platforms, identifying structural gaps in the market, and designing scalable system logic across complex workflows including scheduling, memberships, packages, payments, and multi-location operations. This is a highly technical product role requiring strong systems thinking, database fluency, API literacy, and the ability to model real-world operational workflows into software architecture. Compensation is negotiable and will be based on experience, technical depth, product ownership capability, and relevant SaaS, payments, and wellness-industry expertise. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Competitive Analysis
  • Conduct deep competitive analysis of industry-leading platforms such as Zenoti, Mindbody, Boulevard, Mangomint, Vagaro, Booker, and other appointment-based SaaS systems.
  • Reverse-engineer competitor workflows, system architecture patterns, and operational models to identify product gaps and strategic opportunities.
  • Define product strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends and competitive dynamics within the Beauty & Wellness SaaS ecosystem.
Advanced Systems Logic & Product Architecture
  • Design end-to-end business workflows for scheduling, memberships, packages, recurring billing, deposits, rebooking, client records, and payment systems.
  • Architect system logic including state machines, backend workflows, and relational data models.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze third-party API documentation and design integration approaches for external systems and services.
  • Define database relationships, entity structures, and system dependencies for scalable platform design.
Stakeholder & Engineering Alignment
  • Lead daily technical alignment sessions with overseas Product Delivery Leads and Engineering teams.
  • Resolve system design ambiguity, architecture bottlenecks, and workflow inconsistencies before development begins.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between executive stakeholders and engineering execution teams.
  • Translate executive vision into structured, implementable product requirements.
Scope Management & MVP Definition
  • Own product prioritization and roadmap execution.
  • Define strict MVP boundaries and actively manage scope to prevent feature bloat.
  • Evaluate technical complexity vs. business value to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
  • Drive decisions that balance speed, scalability, and product quality.
Product Documentation & Systems Design
  • Produce detailed PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Build system sequence diagrams mapping UI/UX flows, backend logic, API interactions, and database state transitions.
  • Create ERDs and data models for new and existing platform capabilities.
  • Ensure documentation is precise enough to support independent engineering execution.
Vendor & Integration Management
  • Oversee architecture and implementation of third-party integrations (payments, booking systems, CRM, messaging, marketing tools).
  • Define webhook events, API contracts, authentication flows, and data synchronization logic.
  • Evaluate integration tradeoffs and ensure system reliability across external dependencies.
Quality Assurance & Product Optimization
  • Own User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from both business and end-user perspectives.
  • Validate product usability, workflow accuracy, and system behavior against requirements.
  • Define and track product metrics, funnels, and behavioral analytics.
  • Identify drop-off points and drive continuous optimization based on data insights.
Required Qualifications Industry Experience (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Systems Analysis, Solutions Architecture, or Software Engineering with product ownership responsibilities.
  • Direct experience in Beauty, Wellness, Spa, Salon, Med Spa, or Appointment-Based SaaS platforms.
  • Deep understanding of operational workflows including scheduling, memberships, packages, POS systems, client records, deposits, cancellations, and rebooking.
  • Experience with platforms such as Zenoti, Mindbody, Boulevard, Mangomint, Vagaro, Booker, or similar systems.
Technical Competencies
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, ERDs, and system design principles.
  • Experience defining APIs, webhooks, backend workflows, and integration logic.
  • Deep understanding of state-machine modeling and complex business logic systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior engineers on technical architecture decisions.

  • Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and systems thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into structured technical execution plans.
