Position Description
Job Summary
All States Materials Group is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Recycling Train Transport Driver to support our Cold in Place operations. This position is responsible for transporting emulsion from the emulsion plant to jobs and then getting pushed by the milling machine to inject the emulsion into the milling machine. The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL Class A license w/ HAZMAT, demonstrate strong safety awareness, and take pride in maintaining equipment and supporting efficient recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate CDL Class A vehicles, including tractor-trailer and recycling train configurations, in compliance with DOT and company safety regulations
  • Transport asphalt emulsion between facilities and job sites
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues promptly
  • Ensure proper loading, securement, and unloading of materials
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and required documentation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and supervisors regarding schedules and material needs
  • Follow all environmental, recycling, and site-specific safety procedures
  • Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working condition
  • Assist with yard or plant operations as needed when not driving for Cold in Place crew

Compensation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Prevailing Wage: When assigned to projects subject to prevailing wage requirements, employees will be compensated in accordance with applicable federal, state, or local prevailing wage laws.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Valid CDL Class A license (required)
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT physical and drug testing requirements
  • Previous experience driving tractor-trailer or heavy equipment preferred
  • Experience in construction, asphalt, recycling, or materials transportation a plus
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and DOT regulations
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb, bend, lift, and perform physical job duties as required
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, talk, see and listen. The employee must be able to push levers forward and backwards. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch. Employee may sit for an hour or more at a time.
• Ability to climb in and out of truck without assistance.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures both hot and cold.
• Exposure to sound or noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
• Exposure to contaminants such as diesel fuel or exhaust.
• Operate equipment, such as CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with dispatcher, branch manager, or other drivers.
