Position Overview
Are you an ambitious Electrical Designer ready to transition from drafting components to architecting complex power and lighting systems? This is an invitation to join an elite engineering team where technical precision meets high-end architectural vision. In this role, you will do more than manage layouts; you will act as a vital technical engine, transforming sophisticated design concepts into energized realities for some of the most prominent developments in the Florida market.
Joining our team means immersing yourself in a culture of technical excellence and rapid professional evolution. The firm is renowned for its integrated MEP platform, providing a rare opportunity to see how electrical systems harmonize with mechanical and plumbing disciplines in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. Here, your contributions are visible, your growth is mentored by licensed principals, and your career trajectory is limited only by your own drive for innovation.
Core Responsibilities
  • System Architecture & Design: Engineer comprehensive electrical system plans, including detailed power distribution, lighting design, risers, and schedules for diverse building types.
  • Technical Analytics: Perform critical electrical load calculations, conduit and wire sizing, and equipment selection to ensure NEC code compliance and optimal system performance.
  • Digital Project Integration: Leverage advanced Revit and AutoCAD workflows to develop high-fidelity BIM models and 2D schematics that serve as the blueprint for construction.
  • Field Engineering & Surveys: Lead site surveys and field observations to verify existing conditions and ensure that installations align perfectly with design intent.
  • Construction Stewardship: Navigate the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and preparing detailed field reports to maintain project momentum.
  • Project Leadership (Job Captain): Assume ownership of specific project milestones, coordinating tasks across the design team to ensure every deliverable meets the firm's rigorous quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Synergy: Facilitate seamless communication between architects, consultants, and vendors to resolve technical conflicts and provide client-centric solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a closely related engineering field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience in an MEP consulting or AEC environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD; advanced command of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and basic electrical load calculation methodologies.
  • Communication: Polished verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain composed under the pressure of strict project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Track: Intent to pursue EIT certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Sector Expertise: Experience working on high-density residential, luxury hospitality, or large-scale commercial "tenant fit-out" projects.
  • Advanced BIM: Familiarity with Revit circuiting, scheduling, and electrical family creation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Practical experience with lighting control systems and emergency power distribution.
