Job description

A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and controls. This role drives reliability, modernization, and safe operation across multiple production areas.

Requirements

  • Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff.
  • Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture.
  • Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards.
  • Coordinate contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
  • Support reliability improvements, root‑cause analysis, and change management.
    Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks.
  • Proven success leading engineering teams and projects.

Preferred

  • PE license.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or business.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or process industries.
  • PMP or automation/reliability certifications.
  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 technologies.
