Job Title: EPIC Analyst 2

Position Summary:


The Epic Analyst II will report to the Epic Leadership team, their primary role is to have
a complete working knowledge of their assigned EPIC application, to include an
understanding of the assigned department workflows for the associated EPIC build,
upgrade, and release process. They will work independently in managing application
related service tickets, documenting findings, and communicating status with the end-
users. The Epic Analyst II will support problem resolution, enhancement requests, and
project tasks by building system components, testing, documenting workflows and
related information and maintenance. The Epic Analyst II will follow the software
development lifecycle to manage development, testing and deployment of changes as
well as internal governance processes. They will be proactive in the investigation and
application of best practices and have a good understanding of regulatory requirements
related to the healthcare industry.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Collaborates with departments, operational leaders, physicians, and clinical staff
to design analyses that identify opportunities for improvements in care, evaluates
adherence to clinical best practice, and measures outcomes; provides innovative
solutions utilizing best practices, use of standards and develops design to create
and maintain system solutions.
2. Identifies, analyzes, and recommends improvements and enhancements to
operational processes, system automation, and information flows to ensure
greater integration of functions within the organization with a focus on clinical
workflow.
3. Designs, performs, and documents data analysis in support of clinical
improvement; utilizing quality improvement principles, develops and evaluates
quality and regulatory reports in support of clinical excellence and compliance;
monitors systems impact on user and departmental workflows, and incorporates
results into systems enhancements.
4. Serves as a clinical resource and subject matter expert; maintains knowledge of
best practices and current advances in healthcare and information technology;
combines knowledge, skills, and experience with technical knowledge to create
systems that improve the quality of patient care.
5. Implements testing requirements and processes including scripts, records test
results, facilitates end user testing, hardware testing, and maintains test
environments; makes recommendations.
6. Provides testing for new modules and system upgrades; installs or upgrades
software applications; and troubleshoots software and application related
problems; participates in the evaluation of new module releases and provides
complex analysis and evaluation of systems effectiveness in providing clinical
pathways of documentation.
7. Follows quality assurance standards, systems development, and delivery
methodologies, change management and release management processes to
communicate system changes.
8. Participates in project planning meetings to collaborate with project stakeholders
and works with the EPMO team as required.
9. Reviews changes and upcoming developments in software applications and
actively seeks out way to improve processes or workflows.
10. Manages application requests using the internal ticketing system, updates
statuses and documents resolutions as required by internal processes and
policies.
11. Prepares test data, creates test scripts, and works with project team and end-
users to perform testing of upgrades, changes, and new implementations.


12. Maintains current EHR knowledge and other clinical and business systems.

13. Provides feedback to the team regarding software application improvements
and/or innovations.
14. Exemplifies and promotes the department's four key success factors: Positivity,

1. Will be required to follow IT Change Control processes, create support
documentation following standard protocols and have working knowledge of
HIPAA and other IT security and privacy best practices.

Job Requirements:

Education Required (Minimum level of education):
High School diploma or equivalent required
BA/BS degree preferred.
Certifications/Licenses Required:
Epic Certified Epic Ambulatory
Epic Certified Order Transmittal – preferred
Epic Certified EpicCare Link – preferred
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):
Minimum of 2 years of application support experience as a business analyst, systems
analyst, systems technical trainer, or applications support analyst.
2-5 years working with the EHR application, experience with similar applications may be
considered.
