Join our Day Program! We are looking for a caring individual to join our team for the day program. In this position, you will be working with individuals who have various mental/disabilities in a group setting. You'll be participating in fun activities, such as watching movies, playing games, etc. You will also have the opportunity to go on outings in the community.

Hours of Position:

  • Full Time positions
  • Part Time positions

Additional hours are available in our foster care homes in the area, if interested.

Compensation: $18.00/hour

Location: Fridley, MN

Description:

Must be able to lift 60 to 70 IBS - we need your help

The Direct Support Professional functions as an advocate, supporter, educator and care giver to individuals with disabilities. They assist individuals develop basic living and social skills to gain optimal independence and integration into the community. Depending on the individual, DSPs provide assistance with living skills development, health maintenance, medication administration, personal care and behavioral development/management. The primary goal is to provide services to enrich the lives of our participants to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

This DSP position is at an Adult Day Program in Fridley. This position mainly leads activities, socializing and community events, as well as personal care assistance for some participants. This position requires transporting clients in our company vehicles to and from the Day Program.

Requirements:

  • Compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 19 years or older
  • Able to pass a MN DHS Background Study
  • Valid Driver's License, car insurance, and a clean record
  • Prefer past experience as DSP or related position
