The Office of Digital Transformation at Lam Research is responsible for creating next-generation business processes and accelerating enterprise-wide technology adoption. The Manufacturing Process Specialist role is a unique opportunity to help transform a market-leading semiconductor company as it scales for current and future growth during a pivotal period for the industry.

The successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity, bring the technical rigor required to navigate sophisticated process and system architecture topics, and influence stakeholders effectively across the organization.

As a Manufacturing Process Specialist in Lamโ€™s Digital Transformation program, you will help shape and execute the roadmap for modernizing Lamโ€™s order fulfillment and execution capabilities. As part of the Office of Digital Transformation, you will play a critical role in developing scalable business processes, enabling integrated solutions, and accelerating technology adoption across the company. Your work will help enhance employee and customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and increase overall productivity while supporting Lam through an unprecedented period of growth and transformation.

What youโ€™ll do
  • Process Architecture: Identify process improvement opportunities and deliver innovative solutions for Production Control and Production Planning processes in engineer-to-order and configure-to-order environments across SAP S/4 Production Planning, PP/DS, and integrated upstream and downstream planning and order execution processes.
  • Solution Design: Lead solution design and implementation activities involving complex Variant Configuration models, Super BOMs, Super Routings/BOP, Production Versions, PP/DS, Order BOMs, Order Routings, Order Change Management, MCN management, and ECN management on BOMs across SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC environments.
  • System Transition: Support current SAP ECC environments while helping define and execute the roadmap for transition to SAP S/4HANA, including business cutover strategy, readiness planning, and deployment support.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Integrate SAP Production Planning with PLM, MES, Quality Management, and warehouse execution capabilities to ensure order data integrity, process reliability, and end-to-end execution efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with global planning, operations, business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party implementation partners to translate business requirements into scalable, sustainable SAP-enabled solutions.
  • Testing and Deployment: Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, end-to-end scenario validation, defect triage, cutover preparation, deployment activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide post-go-live support and drive ongoing optimization to improve process adoption, solution quality, operational scalability, and business outcomes.
Who weโ€™re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience leading or supporting end-to-end SAP Order Execution, Production Planning & Production Control, PP/DS and manufacturing transformation processes in engineer-to-order and configure-to-order environments.
  • Experience with at least two full lifecycle SAP ERP implementations, upgrades, or major deployment programs involving SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, with a strong focus on the SAP Production Planning module.
  • Experience with SAP Material Requirements Planning, Production Versions, PP/DS, Order Routings, Production Order lifecycle, and related manufacturing master data.
  • Experience integrating SAP Production Planning with
    • Manufacturing Execution Systems and Quality Management.
    • Extended Warehouse Management for production supply and receiving processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, preferably in complex industrial equipment, semiconductor equipment, or similar assembly-line environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinker and self-starter with strong ownership, accountability, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Preferred qualifications
  • Semiconductor industry or global supplier experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2.

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $114,000.00 - $253,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
