Atlanta Track Club is a nonprofit committed to creating an active and healthy Atlanta. Through running and walking, Atlanta Track Club motivates, inspires and engages the community to enjoy a healthier lifestyle. With more than 30,000 members, Atlanta Track Club is the second largest running organization in the United States. In addition to the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race - the largest 10K in the world, the Publix Atlanta Marathon, the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and the Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, Atlanta Track Club directs more than 40 events and programs per year. Through the support of its members and volunteers, Atlanta Track Club also maintains a number of community initiatives including organizing and promoting its Kilometer Kids youth running program to metro Atlanta youth, honoring high school cross country and track and field athletes through Atlanta Track Club's All-Metro Banquets as well as developing an elite group of Olympic level athletes on their athletic journeys. 


Position Overview: Reporting to the Director - Marketing and Communications, the Manager - Digital Marketing is responsible for driving registrations and engagement for Atlanta Track Club events, programs and merchandise. 

This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn and utilize varying marketing tools.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong time management skills, adaptability and the ability to respond to changing needs. 

This role's primary goal is to drive measurable growth in registrations through strategic and well-executed marketing efforts. The ideal candidate brings a sales-minded approach, creativity, and an understanding of Atlanta Track Club's mission and values. Experience in the running, sports and/or events industry is preferred. This position requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing and communication plans to drive awareness, engagement and registration for Atlanta Track Club events, programs and merchandise. 
  • Manage and optimize multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, email, paid media and grassroots initiatives to support growth goals.  
  • Collaborate with sponsors, vendors and partners to maximize exposure and enhance the participant experience, including coordinating promotional activities and managing relationships.  
  • Engage with the running community through proactive communication and outreach, responding to inquiries and fostering a strong participant experience.  
  • Build and maintain relationships with third parties, vendors, city officials and civic organizations.  
  • Support event marketing activations to ensure delivery of sponsorship benefits at major Atlanta Track Club events.  
  • Partner cross-functionally with customer service and event operations to ensure cohesive and effective marketing execution.  
  • Use registration data and marketing analytics to measure performance, identify opportunities and optimize campaigns.  
  • Take full ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met, details are accurate, and deliverables are completed without the need for follow-up  
  • Prioritize effectively across multiple high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced environment  
  • Proactively communicate updates, risks and blockers, and escalate when needed to keep work moving forward 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or related field  
  • 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit, sports or event marketing  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management  
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager  
  • Experience with WordPress or comparable website platforms  
  • Experience using email marketing platforms  
  • Proficiency in leveraging data from multiple systems (CRM, marketing automation, social and paid media platforms) 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines  
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills  
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through  
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently and drive projects forward  
  • Experience creating and managing project plans, timelines and budgets  
  • Demonstrated ability to generate ideas and execute marketing strategies that drive results
