Description

The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to the Medical Center's HVAC and refrigeration systems, including associated mechanical equipment and utilities. He/she ensures the uninterrupted, efficient and safe operation of all boilers, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Up to three years previous experience in the field of HVAC required and 3+ years preferred

Training and coordination sufficient to handle various specialized tools and equipment

Technical Degree required

Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

EPA Certification for safe handling of refrigerants required

Certification in Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, and Refrigeration required

City of Chicago Stationary Engineer's License preferred
