Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to gather vital information regarding each patient's history and emotional needs.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique circumstances of each individual, utilizing evidence-based interventions.
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation consistent with HIPAA regulations to preserve patient confidentiality and ensure comprehensive care.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team, including registered nurses, physicians, and chaplains, to offer holistic and cohesive patient care.
  • Provide ongoing education and emotional support not only to patients but also to their families, navigating complex feelings and practical needs throughout the end-of-life process.
  • Remain current with best practices and developments in mental health care to deliver the highest quality support to patients and to inform best practices in the team setting.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients within hospice care who face various emotional and psychological challenges related to their health status. This includes those dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma associated with chronic illness and end-of-life issues. Engaging with a diverse client population means you will tailor your therapeutic approaches to meet the unique cultural and individual needs of each patient.

Qualifications
  • A valid LCSW license in the state of Nevada.
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of clinical experience, preferably within hospice or palliative care settings.
  • Expertise in solution-focused psychotherapy methods and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, specifically in sensitive and emotional contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills effectively.
  • A passion for working within a collaborative team environment, valuing multiple perspectives.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with hospice patients or in related fields is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and software relevant to clinical documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and its application in mental health settings.
