Job description

SUMMARY

The Logistics Automation Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of logistics automation systems, including Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs/AMRs), while serving as the primary liaison between the customer, maintenance service providers, and the corporate headquarters in Korea.

This position focuses on operational monitoring, incident management, vendor coordination, service level agreement (SLA) management, and continuous improvement initiatives rather than performing direct equipment repairs. The role is critical to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of automated logistics operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Logistics Automation Operations Management

  • Monitor the daily operation and performance of AGVs/AMRs and other automation systems.
  • Track equipment uptime, operational KPIs, and system performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with maintenance service providers to ensure timely response and recovery from equipment failures.
  • Maintain operational records, incident logs, and key performance reports.
  • Monitor the operational status of AGV charging stations and supporting infrastructure.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and oversee service activities performed by equipment vendors and maintenance contractors.

Customer and Vendor Communication

  • Receive and respond to customer operational requests, concerns, and issues.
  • Coordinate communication between customers and maintenance service providers during equipment incidents.
  • Communicate maintenance results, corrective actions, and improvement plans to customers.
  • Support regular customer operational review meetings and performance reviews.
  • Monitor SLA performance and provide operational status updates and reports.

Headquarters and Vendor Management

  • Provide regular operational reports and updates to the corporate headquarters in Korea.
  • Collaborate with headquarters technical support teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Coordinate software updates, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage vendor service scope, contractual obligations, and performance.
  • Evaluate maintenance service provider performance and drive corrective actions when necessary.

Automation Systems Support

  • Monitor the interface status between the AGV Control System (RCS) and the Customer Information Management (CIM) system.
  • Monitor and maintain the operational status of industrial wireless network infrastructure, including access points (APs).
  • Oversee the operation of Vision QC cameras and inspection systems, coordinating with maintenance vendors to resolve camera failures, recognition errors, and inspection data abnormalities.
  • Verify the proper collection and transmission of Vision inspection results and manage related operational issues.
  • Participate in new automation system implementation and operational stabilization projects.

Preventive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor preventive maintenance (PM) activities and ensure completion according to schedule.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
  • Drive initiatives to improve equipment availability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational procedures, and company policies.
  • Participate in process improvement and operational standardization initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics automation systems, manufacturing automation systems, or related operational environments.
  • Experience supporting AGV/AMR systems, or similar automated material handling equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and operational issue management skills.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and third-party service providers.
  • Basic understanding of industrial networks and system interfaces.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing plant or distribution center environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AGV/AMR implementation or operation projects.
  • Experience with WMS, WCS, ERP, or related logistics systems.
  • Experience managing maintenance contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Experience with industrial wireless network infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting Vision inspection systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean.
  • Previous experience working in a U.S. manufacturing facility or distribution center.
