The Work:
  • Work with a Category Manager to help analyze and set the strategic direction for a category at Target.
  • Deliver merchandising and assortment planning recommendations through data analysis and guest insights.
  • Research category and industry trends to help set the future direction of a category
  • Provide timely and accurate data through multiple sources that includes fact based actionable insights to drive category sales and demonstrate thought leadership
  • Develop and maintain routine reporting on category performance through Target and Market data
  • Build Planograms using the Blue Yonder Space Planning software multiple times a year
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Target team and Category Management clients
  • Collaborate and share findings with the Category Management Team
  • Other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 years experience in Category Management or Business Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in retail merchandising, business, marketing, financial analysis - or related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Be motivated to learn and become an expert in the Category Management process
  • Experience using data in previous roles to answer business questions
  • Curious and passionate about industry trends and opportunities
  • Detail Oriented and able to synthesize lots of data
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in ambiguous situations and continuously likes to learn
  • Strong organizational skills and reliable to hit deadlines
  • Able to take direction, ask good questions, align on goals and can execute on them
  • Can creatively solve problems and is resourceful
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
  • Can work independently and is resourceful to figure out an answer
