As our Walmart Category Analyst, you'll play a critical role in shaping one of the world's largest beauty retailers through data-driven insights, retail execution, and category innovation. This role offers unmatched exposure to Walmart's business, allowing you to develop expertise across analytics, modular strategy, shopper insights, and project management while partnering with industry-leading brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As our Walmart Category Analyst, you are responsible for Category Analytics | Retail Execution | Project Coordination
The Walmart Category Analyst supports Coty's Beauty Category Management team by delivering timely business reporting, maintaining data integrity across multiple retail platforms, supporting store and modular execution, and identifying emerging industry trends. This role serves as a key operational partner to the Category Managers, ensuring the team delivers best-in-class insights and flawless execution in support of Walmart's business objectives.
Your main focus:
  • Deliver recurring customer reporting, including Monday and Friday business updates, utilizing Scintilla, Excel, and Walmart reporting tools to provide accurate and actionable insights.
  • Analyze monthly Share of Market performance through Nielsen data, identifying key trends, competitive movement, and opportunities to support strategic business recommendations.
  • Develop clear, concise business stories by translating data into actionable insights and presentation-ready recommendations for internal leadership and Walmart customer meetings.
  • Maintain item attribution and data accuracy across Nielsen, Shopper Behavior, and Crisp platforms, ensuring reporting consistency and reliable business analytics.
  • Coordinate store and modular execution activities, including Walmart Trait Collaboration management, store list maintenance, Layout Center management, sample coordination, and modular setup for merchant reviews.
  • Support category projects by monitoring beauty industry trends, summarizing competitive launches and eCommerce activity, and assisting with Walmart modular timelines and cross-functional project execution.

The team consists of Category Managers, Analysts & a Director working closely together with several departments such as Wall Strategy, Consumer Insights, Walmart Merchants & Walmart Mod Core. Our team is highly collaborative, analytical, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering best-in-class category leadership that helps Walmart grow their Beauty business.
QUALIFICATIONS
We'd love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Retail, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Category Management, Sales Analytics, Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, or a related analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Experience utilizing syndicated or retail data platforms such as NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI), Scintilla, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.

Desirable:
  • Experience supporting Walmart or another large national retailer.
  • Familiarity with Walmart systems including Scintilla, Shopper Behavior, Customer Perception & Trait Collaboration.
  • Exposure to JDA Space Planning and/or Cantactix space management software.
  • Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for consumer trends, retail innovation, and the beauty industry.

  • Base Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000
