Job description

Position Overview:
GMSC Operations Technology, a subsidiary of Vornado Realty Trust, seeks a Manager of Audio Visual and Event Technology to lead the strategic oversight and daily operational success of A/V, technology, and production resources across our Midtown Manhattan portfolio.
This role is the bridge between technical execution and corporate excellence, requiring technical knowledge and experience in AV event production and AV fixed installation, ensuring white-glove service for executive leadership and high-profile tenants.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities
  • Operational Governance: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of A/V and event technology services, ensuringall Midtown locations meet Vornado's gold standard for corporate excellence.
  • Strategic Project Management: Lead comprehensive A/V infrastructure projects, from initial scoping and budgeting to final commissioning and stakeholder hand-off.
  • Executive Support & Client Relations: Act as the primary escalation point for high-stakes corporate events, providing a seamless technology interface for executive leadership.
  • Systems Governance: Oversee technical documentation, asset management, and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure 100% uptime of mission-critical production environments.
  • Vendor & Resource Management: Direct internal teams and external integrators, holding partners accountable for service level agreements (SLAs) and project deadlines.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Establish protocols for rapid incident response and root-cause analysis to professionally mitigate technical risks.

Technical Management & Production Oversight
The Manager provides expert-level guidance and hands-on escalation support for the following areas:
  • Live Video Production: Build and manage production workflows (router configuration, signal flows, technical proposals). Provide baseline operations for live events, including Yamaha audio consoles, Blackmagic ATEM switchers/routers, Panasonic PTZ cameras, and Ross Xpression/Carbonite systems.
  • AV Systems Management: Direct the troubleshooting of Crestron control systems, Dante audio networks, and Q-SYS distribution workflows.
  • Integrated Technologies: Manage Digital Signage (Brightsign), Content Management Systems (AppSpace), LED walls, and advanced Video/Audio-conferencing (including Telepresence).
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Facilitate hardware upgrades, modifications, and software updates to production workflows.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager, Field/Broadcast Engineer, or Technical Producer in a high-pressure corporate environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Film, Broadcast, Media, Communications, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read/follow complex AV system flow diagrams. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Certifications (Preferred): CTS, Crestron, Dante, or Q-SYS certifications.
  • Physical/Logistical: Must be able to work on-site in Midtown Manhattan 5 days/week, lift 50+ lbs, and climb ladders.

The starting base salary for this New York position is expected to be between $80,000 to $120,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
GMSC Operations Technology is not offering relocation for this position located in New York, NY. This role is on-site in midtown Manhattan 5 days/week and is not eligible for remote/hybrid work schedules.
